View Experience

The View Experience allows users to select from predefined list of views each presented in a tab.

The SuperVIEW View Experience allows users to select from predefined list of views and then see each view presented in a tab.

A ‘Standard’ and an ‘AA Compliant’ Web Accessibility version of SuperVIEW will be provided. On selection, or where a non-Javascript enabled browser is being used, the ‘AA Compliant’ version will be rendered.

‘Standard’ SuperVIEW uses client-side Flash technology to provide a level of client-side interaction with data. This means users get a near instant response when applying filters or removing a series selection. Interactions with the server are minimized. The product can be altered to remove the use of Flash and generate graphics on the server.

The following provides an indication of how SuperVIEW can be used.

view-link Visitors to your company's website will click on a  link and from there access the SuperVIEW experience.

If required metadata links, footnotes, and other information can be included.

A metadata metadata-icon icon can be displayed next to fields that hold metadata. A tooltip displays when a user moves the mouse over it. The metadata tooltips can hold URLs which link to further information as appropriate.

Different visualizations are shown as separate tabs. Visualizations include line charts, bar charts (stacked/non-stacked), column charts (stacked/non-stacked) and pie charts.

view-map

Data can also be visualized on thematic maps. On the map display, each region is thematically colored based on selected values.

The map engine use either Google Maps or ESRI maps, which has the advantage of providing access to a rich background map.

After the information displays, users will be able to interact with it by ticking or unticking data items. The chart will be updated instantly without interaction from the server.

feature2

Users will be provided with a number of options for exporting the View:

  • Export the View to pdf
  • Export the table within a View in csv format
  • Export charts and maps in png format

From this the user will be able to print the results, or copy parts to their own document.

Static information pages and links

With the use of the information icons within the application, core information on specific fields and field values can be kept as close as possible to the data within the actual application.
Users can see essential information immediately, without the need to open up additional browser windows or documents.

For further information and explanatory notes, URL links can be included in the core information tooltips that take the user to the additional documentation where appropriate.

Branding

All web pages will contain your branding logos and use the fonts and colors of the current web site.

View Experience in action

“Technically, SuperVIEW has all the power, flexibility and configuration capabilities we need. And its intuitive, user-friendly interface and multiple views are the perfect fit for our audience. The data reporting output includes ‘rates’ as a measure. This is one of the most frequently requested formats to view cancer incidence and mortality data and TARDIS handles this superbly.”
Helen Farrugia, Director Registry Systems, Victorian Cancer Council
