The SuperSERVER Foundation course provides the essential knowledge and skills for people who are responsible for setting up and maintaining a SuperSTAR environment.

The course contains a number of mandatory and optional topics (depending on the SuperSTAR products being used) and therefore can be tailored to participants’ needs. The trainer will assist in developing a course best suited to your environment.

The SuperSERVER Foundation course covers the following mandatory topics:

  • SuperSTAR architecture
  • Installing SuperSERVER
  • Configuring SuperSERVER using SuperADMIN
  • Running SuperSERVER as a Windows service
  • Managing a SuperSERVER installation

Possible optional topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Integration with LDAP server
  • Applying field level security
  • Implementing disclosure control
  • Implementing metadata
  • Implementing search functionality

Prerequisite skills

For this course we strongly recommend that participants have:

  • attended the SuperCROSS Introductory Course or have significant experience with SuperCROSS
  • knowledge of user and permission management concepts
  • knowledge of simple networking and operating system concepts such as the definition of network drives, ports, protocols, and services
  • knowledge of simple database concepts such as the definitions of tables, fields, primary keys, and foreign keys.
