Course overview

The SuperCROSS Advanced course is designed to build on participants' existing knowledge of SuperCROSS.

Through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on labs, participants will be exposed to the breadth of functionality available in SuperCROSS. Participants will gain experience essential for the complex analysis of their organisation’s data.

The SuperCROSS Advanced course covers the following topics:

  • Reviewing and extending SuperCROSS skills
  • Understanding user defined fields
  • Understanding how weightings and confidentiality works
  • Advanced record view options
  • Understanding table metadata such as annotations
  • Working with the table definition format
  • Creating queries for answering complex business questions
  • Working with external data
  • Integrating SuperCROSS with a metadata repository
  • Learning how to customize the SuperCROSS environment
  • Working with multiple datasets

Each student receives a course manual and a lab book. These can be used as reference guides after the course is completed.

Prerequisite skills

For this course we strongly recommend that participants have:

  • attended the SuperCROSS Foundation Course or have significant experience with SuperCROSS
  • knowledge of Microsoft Windows basic concepts and functionality, such as dragging and dropping objects and using menus and toolbars
  • knowledge of simple database concepts such as the definitions of tables, fields, primary keys, and foreign keys.
