Space-Time’s Don McIntosh to present at IASSIST

The theme of this year’s conference is “Data Science Professionals: a Global Community of Sharing”

The International Association for Social Science Information Services & Technology’s (IASSIST) annual conference will take place in Vancouver,  Canada,  May 30 - June 3, 2011.

Space-Time’s Don McIntosh will speak on “A Query-Based Access System Using DDI and SDMX”. Don will discuss ways of supporting ad hoc queries on microdata as an alternative to the traditional approach of pre-building cubes for dissemination, and how the DDI and SDMX open data standards help to make this possible.

For over 30 years the IASSIST community has been connecting globally. The resulting discussions and networks have enabled community members to learn about the latest trends in data-driven science, data documentation, and the reuse of data and tools.

DDI will be holding its DDI Experts meetings on Monday May 30, and the DDI Developers and DDI Steering Committee will be meeting on Tuesday May 31.
