Australian vocational education and training statistics: Apprentices and trainees, March quarter – 2009
Page - http://www.ncver.edu.au/publications/2179.html
“This publication provides estimates of apprentice and trainee activity for the quarter ending 31 March 2009. An apprentice or trainee is a person undertaking vocational training through a contracted training arrangement.
These tables contain figures on apprentice and trainee activity based on the date of effect rather than the date of processing. Due to lags in processing, recent activity levels are estimated. The estimation method involves weighting recently processed numbers based on average reporting lags. Unless shown in bold the figures used in this publication are estimated. All figures are subject to revision, and may differ from those published in earlier or in subsequent reports. Seasonally adjusted data is also presented. This involves the use of a mathematical model over time series data to smooth out fluctuations in data due to seasonal influences. Seasonally adjusted data is useful to illustrate immediate trends from one quarter to the next but it cannot be further disaggregated. Further details on the methodology can be found at:”
